November 7 @ 10:00 am - 1:00 pm

|Recurring Event (See all)

An event every week that begins at 10:00am on Wednesday, happening 4 times

$100.

Your collection of random concert t’s, or a themed group of kid’s favorites. Learn how to preserve those pop culture favorites and show them off in a new setting. Leslie Morgan will demonstrate her techniques for building a quilt using t-shirts as the key elements.

About the teacher:

“Leslie Morgan was bitten by the quilting bug about 30 years ago. Since then she has made over 400 quilts including traditionally pieced, rag, applique, paper pieced and t shirt/memory pieces. Leslie has donated  many of her  quilts to Sir Winston Churchill Secondary School in Hamilton to help raise funds for the Music Department, where she taught vocal and instrumental classes before she retired in 2015. Since then, Leslie has established her own business, Sable Quilting Studio in her home, where she makes custom quilts as well as doing long arm quilting for others. She specializes in pop culture t shirt quilts, using themes such as Marvel and DC superheroes, Disney characters, iconic movies, sports teams and Canadian pride to make her clients smile. Not every quilt has to be an heirloom, but they should make you happy!”
